Assistant Instructor
As a PADI Assistant Instructor, you not only gain additional experience as a PADI Professional scuba diver, but you also start learning the PADI System of diver education. You can act as an instructional scuba assistant and assume limited teaching responsibilities. It's a great way to gain experience in order to become a scuba instructor!
The PADI Assistant Instructor course is the first portion of the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) and when followed by the Open Water Scuba Instructor course (OWSI) and successful performance at the Instructor Examination (IE), leads to certification as a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor.
This is an extensive four (4) day preparatory program consisting of seven (7) IDC Curriculum Components, at least two (2) evaluated knowledge development teaching presentations, at least two (2) evaluated confined water teaching presentations , at least two (2) evaluated open water teaching presentations, demonstrate competence at performing all dive skills listed on the Skill Evaluation, successfully complete the Assistant Instructor Standards Exam and successfully complete the PADI Divemaster course diver rescue skill in open water. Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to submit a completed Assistant Instructor application to PADI for the rating of Assistant Instructor. You will also be eligible to enter into the Open Water Scuba Instructor course.

Open Water Scuba Instructor

The Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI) program is one of two distinct components of PADI's Instructor Development Course (IDC)-the core of PADI Instructor training. The first portion is the Assistant Instructor course followed by the Open Water Scuba Instructor program.
This is an extensive five (5) day program consisting of fifteen (15) IDC Curriculum Components:
Upon successful completion of the course you will be eligible to receive a PADI IDC Certificate of Completion, qualifying you to attend a PADI Instructor Evaluation (IE) scheduled immediately following all of our IDC’s.

Specialty instructor courses provide valuable teaching tips for meeting the requirements of the course.
You can choose from any of the 27 standard specialty courses that PADI offers along with distinctive specialty courses your Course Director may offer. Having five specialty instructor ratings is a prerequisite for the Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.
Whether it's Deep, Photography, Enriched Air Nitrox or one of your own, PADI Specialty Instructors are out there scuba diving and training. Join the fun.
Master Scuba Diver Trainer
Our Specialty Instructor Course gives you the opportunity to observe and demonstrate role–model academic presentations, experience the open water dives required in the particular specialty, as well as actually conduct portions of these dives. In the end you will gain from the experience and knowledge of our staff on how to conduct your specialty courses. Through this course you will gain experience in five (5) PADI or more specialty areas.

IDC Staff Instructor
The PADI IDC staff Instructor course is designed to provide PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainers with additional training necessary to staff PADI Instructor Development programs. This course builds upon the IDC Staff Instructor candidate’s experience and abilities as a dive educator while concentrating on developing evaluation and counseling skills.

EFR Instructor
The Emergency First Response Instructor Course provides qualified individuals with additional training necessary to teach the Emergency First Response Primary Care (CPR), Secondary Care (First Aid) and Care for Children courses. This course builds on the instructor candidate’s skills as primary and secondary care providers and focuses on developing their instructional abilities. Through independent study, classroom sessions and practice teaching assignments, instructor candidates learn to conduct the Emergency First Response program.
This program will allow you the opportunity to teach classes above the Advanced Open Water level without your students having to go elsewhere for this required training.
Note: You must have completed the Emergency First Response program and the Care for Children course within the past 24 months.
